Mangaluru-based St Aloysius (Deemed-to-be University) has received approval from the Bar Council of India to launch law programmes under its School of Law.
With the recent recognition granted under Section 7(1)(i) of the Advocates Act, 1961, by the Bar Council of India, St Aloysius has been officially authorised to confer degrees in law.
A media statement said the School of Law will offer two programmes: a three-year LLB (Honours) with an intake of 60 students, and a five-year integrated BBA LLB (Honours) with an intake of 60 students.
These programmes are approved for the academic years 2025–26 and 2026–27, and adhere strictly to the Rules of Legal Education, 2008, and all guidelines issued by the Bar Council of India, ensuring students receive the highest standards of legal education in India, the statement added.
